2023/24 Ghana Premier League Week 26: Match Report – Medeama SC 1-0 Legon Cities

Reigning champions, Medeama SC, secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Legon Cities during their Ghana Premier League encounter in week 26.

The showdown unfolded at the Akoon Park on a Sunday afternoon. Despite Medeama SC starting in the 6th position with 36 points and Legon Cities in the 13th place with 32 points, both teams fiercely contested control over the midfield from the outset.

As the first half progressed, neither team managed to breach the opponent’s defense. However, the deadlock broke in the 55th minute when Kamaradini Mamudu netted a goal for the Yellow and Mauve.

Following this breakthrough, Medeama SC made strategic substitutions in the 74th minute, bringing on Dauoda Ben Sidibe and David Boison Frimpong.

These changes bolstered their defense, allowing them to maintain their lead until the final whistle, clinching all three points at stake.

Medeama travel to Berekum to face Chelsea while Legon Cities will welcome Accra Hearts of Oak.
