Hearts of Oak refute reports of salary dispute with players

Hearts of Oak have dismissed reports circulating in parts of the local media claiming that the club is facing internal problems with players due to unpaid salaries.

In recent days, some reports suggested that members of the Hearts of Oak playing squad had gone several months without receiving their wages.

The claims also indicated that the alleged salary delays had caused tension within the team and negatively affected the club’s performances in the Ghana Premier League.

However, the Accra-based club has firmly denied those allegations, stating that the information being reported does not accurately represent the situation at the club.

In a statement released by the club, Hearts of Oak explained that the recent interaction between the management team and players was a routine engagement that takes place from time to time to discuss internal matters concerning the team.

According to the club, the meeting was not related to any dispute over unpaid salaries as suggested in some media reports.

The management further clarified that the discussions were held in a calm and constructive atmosphere and were intended to address issues relating to the team’s progress.

Hearts of Oak also indicated that the meeting had been wrongly portrayed by certain media outlets, which suggested that the conversation became heated.

The club insists that there is no misunderstanding or conflict between management and the playing body.

While the club has moved to clarify the situation off the pitch, their focus now remains on improving results in the league.

The Phobians have experienced a challenging period in recent weeks after going three consecutive matches without recording a victory.

Despite this run, the club still holds a strong position in the standings.

Hearts of Oak currently sit fourth on the league table with 41 points, keeping them within reach of the teams above them as the competition progresses.

Attention now shifts to their next league assignment against Heart of Lions.

The upcoming match will provide Hearts of Oak with an opportunity to bounce back and return to winning ways.

As the season continues, the club will be hoping to stabilize their performances and maintain their place among the top contenders in the Ghana Premier League.
