Alhaji Grusah has disclosed how much each Black Stars Management committee member received as an appearance fee at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana got eliminated from the group stage after accumulating just three points from three matches.
The Black Stars lost their group opener 3-2 to Portugal and defeated South Korea 3-2 before succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Uruguay.
Ghana’s officials have been in massive scrutiny for perceived embezzlement of funds.
Reacting to this, Grusah, who was part of the Black Stars Management committee team said:
“I want to ask if it’s a crime for us (the management committee) to take that appearance fee of $100k?”
“I risked my life to be on a flight from Ghana to Qatar. When we were being attacked in Nigeria, where were those people who are now making noise about the money we took.
“A lot could have happened to us. We left our jobs to serve Ghana. If some of us were to stay back, we could have earned more than that from our various jobs, if it’s a crime, Ghanaians should come for their money.
“We took the money because we deserved it.” He told Akoma FM
