Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Nartey Ogum, has attributed their 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions in a Week 27 fixture on Wednesday to a lack of focus.
The Porcupine Warriors were beaten at the Sogakope Sports Stadium, with goals from Yao Sopkoli, Jacob Awoute, and David Akintunde sealing the win for the Lions.
Reacting after the game, Ogum said his team had a good warm-up but failed to track spaces and opponents effectively, which led to their downfall.
“I don’t think so. I think we had a good warm-up. It was just lack of focus,” Ogum said when asked if he noticed any signs of trouble before the game.
“As you try to attack, you try to see the spaces… look at the spaces you have left behind. But then I think we didn’t do that and that led to those two goals.”
Following the defeat, Kotoko currently sit second on the table with 47 points from 27 games.
They will face Nations FC away next, hoping to bounce back and end their two-game winless run.
