Head coach of Ghana’s Black Satellites, Desmond Ofei, says he’s confident in the team’s potential as they prepare for the upcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ghana has been drawn in a tough group alongside Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic. The Black Satellites will kick off their campaign on May 2 against DR Congo, before facing Senegal three days later.
Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, Ofei expressed optimism about his side’s preparations and readiness for the challenge.
“We can not get it 100% right all the time but I’m pretty confident with the current set up right now. We going to push and see how far we get,” he stated.
Ghana will be aiming to reach at least the semi-finals, which would secure qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, a tournament they’ve missed since 2015.
The U-20 AFCON is set to begin on April 27 in Egypt.
