Tickets shortage for the opener news.

Radio talk http://kickoffghana.com/transfer-talk-ronaldo-may-make-real-madrid-return-this-summer-ghana-latest-football-news-live-scores-results/shows in the Ghanaian capital has been inundated with calls from members of the public desperate for an opportunity to see the Black Stars in their first competitive game on home soil since the 2006 World Cup qualifier against Uganda in September 2005.

The Local Organising Committee says it put out 12 000 tickets for sale to members of the general public for the game that will take place at the refurbished 40 000 capacity facility.

The rest of the pass s were sold in bulk packages to corporate bodies and sponsors.

The shortage of tickets has become a major talking point in Ghana, but Andy Sam, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of the Local Organising Committee, told https://www.kickoff.com/news/1260/ticket-shortage-for-openerKickOffGhana.com that the shortage was to be expected.

“There are over a million Ghanaians wanting to see the Black Stars play in a 40 000 capacity stadium. Naturally, there will be many people who wouldn’t get access,” he says.

“Part of our strategy to fill the stands was to sell the bulk pass to corporate bodies, but there are sponsors who have paid huge sums of money to make this tournament happen so we couldn’t overlook them,” he adds.

The tickets for the opening game were sold out barely two days after going on sale last week, but there are fears that touts are hoarding the tickets for bigger prices as the matchday draws closer.
