Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Tanko, has expressed disappointment and frustration following his team’s 1-0 loss to Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League.
The match, played at the Kpando Sports Stadium, saw Ebenezer Abban score the only goal in the 73rd minute, ending Medeama’s hopes of closing the gap on the league leaders.
Speaking to the media after the game, Tanko admitted that the defeat was painful.
“The game was a really hard game, and I think when you look at chances created, we had our chances in the first half to score, but we didn’t make use of them,” Ibrahim Tanko said.
Then we conceded a goal through a set piece. It’s really painful. In all, they won 1-0, so we take it like that.
“I’m disappointed. Like I said, in the first half, we could have scored one or two, and we couldn’t make use of our chances. So, definitely I’m sad about the result.”
Following Wednesday’s defeat, Medeama SC sit 5th on the Ghana Premier League table with 41 points—nine points behind league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
