Former Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed his disappointment following the club’s decision to reassign him from the dugout to a technical advisory role.
The change came at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, when the club’s hierarchy opted to reorganise the technical leadership of the first team.
That restructuring paved the way for the appointment of Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as the new head coach, effectively ending Ouattara’s time as head coach.
In a statement issued by the club in June 2025, Hearts of Oak explained the new arrangement, noting: “As a special advisor, Ouattara will be working directly with the Board of Directors on special assignments and duties.”
Speaking in an interview with Top FM, the Ivorian tactician opened up about how the decision affected him personally.
“I felt disappointed after I was informed to perform the role of the technical advisor because I had a template to put to reality as the head coach,”
Ouattara still remains part of Hearts of Oak’s technical structure as the team prepares for their next encounter against Hohoe United.
