Ghanaian youngster Ebenezer Annan has reacted after featuring in Ghana’s international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda.

The Serbia-based defender made a substitute appearance on his debut for the Black Stars in a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria.

After impressing on his debut as a substitute, Otto Addo handed him his first start in the 2-2 draw against Uganda in on Tuesday.

Defender Jerome Opoku headed home Ghana’s opening goal before Kotoko star Steven Desse Mukwala levelled pegging for Uganda.

Crystal Palace star Jordan Ayew converted from the spot to restore Ghana’s lead but the Cranes staged a comeback in the dying embers of the game to snatch a draw after Mohammed Shaban found the back of the net.

“It’s always an honour and I’m grateful,” he wrote on Instagram.

Annan joined Serbia Superliga club Novi Pazar from Bologna last summer after a loan spell at Imolese in Serie D. He was voted as the best left-back in the first half of the Serbia Superliga last year.

He has been an integral member of Novi Pazar since joining the club last summer.

The 21-year-old will hope to cement a place in the national team after impressing in the two international friendlies.

With the Black Stars set to take on Mali and Central African Republic in a must-win games in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Annan will hope to make a return to the squad.
