Chelsea are being linked with a move for Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, who currently plays for FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark’s Superliga. The 20-year-old central midfielder is under contract with the Danish club until 30 June 2030 but has been attracting attention after an impressive breakthrough campaign.

Yirenkyi, born in Bechem in January 2006, has established himself in Nordsjaelland’s first team since stepping up from the club’s youth ranks in February 2025. He has amassed 29 Superliga appearances, contributing three goals and five assists, and featured heavily in the Superliga Championship round, where he made 18 appearances and added a further three assists.

His current market valuation stands at around €10 million, a figure likely to shape any negotiations between Nordsjaelland and potential suitors. Chelsea’s interest comes as the Premier League side continue to explore younger options in central midfield, with Yirenkyi’s performances in Denmark marking him out as a player of growing stature.

Yirenkyi has also carried his club form onto the international stage, featuring for Ghana at the 2026 World Cup. He played in all four of his country’s matches, scoring once and registering a 50% goal involvement while on the pitch, underlining his ability to influence games at a high level.

Having joined Nordsjaelland from the Right to Dream academy before progressing from the U19s, Yirenkyi is tied to the Danish side on a long-term deal, placing the club in a strong position should Chelsea or any other club move to test their resolve before 2030.
