English-Ghanaian centre-back Yeboah Amankwah has joined FC Inter from Veikkausliiga rivals IFK Mariehamn. The 25-year-old defender makes the move within Finland’s top flight after establishing himself as a regular starter this season.
Amankwah, born in London and standing at 1.90m, has signed a deal with FC Inter running until 31 December 2026. The right-footed defender arrives with recent top-flight experience in Finland, having played consistently through the first half of the 2026 Veikkausliiga campaign.
Comfortable at the heart of defence, Amankwah has featured in 12 of IFK Mariehamn’s 16 league matches this season, contributing one assist and collecting a single yellow card, while also appearing in the Suomen Cup and Liigacup. His game time figures, starting in the majority of league fixtures and playing over 70% of available minutes, underline his status as a key figure in Mariehamn’s back line before the transfer.
Amankwah only joined IFK Mariehamn in January 2026 after a short spell without a club, and his performances there have now earned him a move to Turku. Prior to arriving in Finland, he had spells with Lommel SK and came through the ranks at Manchester City, including loans at Rochdale and Accrington which provided his first senior experience.
With this move confirmed, Amankwah becomes FC Inter’s latest defensive addition and will spend the remainder of 2026 under contract with the Veikkausliiga side.
