Basake Holy Stars maintained their impressive run under head coach Johnson Smith after securing a hard-earned point away to Medeama SC in Tarkwa.
The Green-Blacks stretched their unbeaten streak to five matches following a dramatic 1-1 draw in Monday evening’s Ghana Premier League Matchday 15 fixture at the TnA Stadium.
It was Basake who struck first when captain Koffie Hagan reacted quickest in the 30th minute to slot home from close range.
However, substitute Kingsley Braye came off the bench to convert with barely a minute left on the clock, rescuing a point for the Mauves and Yellows.
“The game was not bad. This is how I told the boys to play, so what they did was very good,” Smith said.
“The boys are responding to the instruction. We have only five defenders, so whenever there is a problem, there is trouble,” Smith said.
Basake Holy Stars will now shift focus to their next assignment as they prepare to host newly promoted Hohoe United, aiming to turn solid performances into maximum points.
