Striker Antoine Semenyo has opened up about the battle for starting spots in the Black Stars squad ahead of pre-World Cup friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.
The 22-year-old forward has had a decent start to the season, scoring three goals in five Championship appearances.
And He will have to compete with Atletico Bilbao forward, Inaki Williams, Osman Bukari of Red Star Belgrade, Crystal Palace’s Jordan Ayew, Felix Afena-Gyan of Cremonese and Daniel Afriyie Barneieh from Hearts of Oak, for a place in attack.
“It’s a healthy competition and everyone is fine for the spot so you know if you get that number one spot, you will wanna keep it.” The Bristol striker said.
When asked about his quality as an attacker, Semenyo said, “I just want to show the world stage what I can do, I want to show them I can score, I can link play and run in behind if I need to so like I said, I’m ready when I’m called upon.”
Ghana will engage heavyweights, Brazil on September 23 in France before clash against Nicaragua four days later.
