Young Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Osman is bracing up to work under the youngest-ever Premier League manager, Fabian Hùrzeler, after Brighton and Hove Albion confirmed the Swiss’ appointment.
The 31-year-old Hùrzeler, who led St Pauli to Bundesliga promotion after securing the Bundesliga 2 crown in the just-ended season, was officially announced as Brighton coach on June 15, 2024.
“We are pleased to confirm that Fabian Hürzeler will become our new men’s first-team head coach.
Fabian has agreed a contract until June 2027. Once his work permit is processed, he will begin work straight away”, the club statement read.
The manager replaces the departed Roberto De Zerbi, who is without a club as yet, but is on the radar of numerous clubs.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Osman, who was signed halfway in the season and is contracted to the Seagulls until June 2029, will miss out on the expertise of De Zerbi but has the privilege of working with Húrzeler – who has a knack for nurturing budding talent as well.
Osman’s €19.5m (plus €3m add-ons) switch means he will join former Right to Dream teammates : Mohammed Kudus and Kamaldeen Sulemana as Ghanaian stars in the League next season.
As well as Fatawu Issahaku, Tariq Lamptey, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo and Jeffery Schlupp being the other Ghanaians.
