Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed concerns about his team’s scoring ability, despite their victory over Young Apostles in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
The Phobians defeated Young Apostles 2-0 in a week 23 fixture at Legon Sports Stadium thanks to Michael Awuah and Hamza Issah goals.
Speaking to the media after the game, Ouattara acknowledged that his forwards wasted clear scoring chances and emphasized the need for improvement in their clinical finishing.
“I congratulate the boys to say they have done well. All the strategy we put in worked but this is our major problem, the scoring.
“We created the chances, we didn’t score but by that time the coach’s work is finished now is the players ability to score the goal but thank God we took that three points today, we got two goals.
“Our scoring ability is a problem, I will continue to work on it and the fitness and everything. I’m not disappointed, at the highest level this is part of the game.”
Hearts of Oak are now third on the table with 36 points after 23 games.
They will face struggling side Dreams FC in their next encounter.
