Black Stars forward Mohammed Kudus has made his predictions for the ongoing European Championships, taking place in Germany.
The hosts set the ball rolling in a one-sided 5-1 annihilation of Scotland (who are yet to win on opening day of the tournament) on Friday, June 14, 2024, in Munich.
Despite Germany’s collective team effort and France’s abundance of attacking options, as well as Portugal’s inevitability with Cristiano Ronaldo, none were able to influence Kudus’ choice.
“I guess its pretty obvious, i’ll go for England”, Kudus said.
Kudus’ decision of going with the Three Lions – who are yet to win a major tournament since Sir Geoff Hurst’s hat-trick in the 1966 World Cup – was preceded with opting for Kane and Jude Bellingham as top scorer and Young player of the tournament respectively.
“Top goalscorer? I’ll go for Harry Kane, classy finisher”, he said
“Best player or the tournament? Jude”, he added
For the safest pair of hands, Kudus’ surest best was French and Ac Milan shot-stopper, Maignan
“Golden Glove? I’ll go for Maignan”, he is a very good goalkeeper, he said.
The EUROS will conclude on July 14, 2024.
