Kwadwo Antwi Duah, a native of Ghana by descent, inspired Switzerland to a routine 3-1 victory over Hungary in the team’s opening 2024 European Championship game in Cologne, Germany.
Duah, who holds dual citizenship of both Ghana and Switzerland, debuted for Switzerland on June 4, 2024, in a friendly game against Estonia.
The forward, who plays for Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets, was on hand to score the Swiss opening goal after a well-worked team move placed him through on goal to finish.
After a short Video assistant check, Duah’s goal (which was initially ruled out) was deemed as a right one after an on-field offside call.
The player, who was born to Ghanaian parents, managed to score 10 times in the Bulgarian League, playing alongside Bernard Tekpetey for the Bulgarian giants.
The win serves as a spring in the step of the Swiss, who move into second place in group A with three points, boosting their chances of advancing to the next stage of the competition.
