Asante Kotoko solidified their position at the top of the Ghana Premier League with a convincing 2-0 win over Legon Cities on Sunday.
The match, held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, saw the Porcupine Warriors dominate both halves to secure maximum points.
Patrick Asiedu opened the scoring in the 28th minute, giving Asante Kotoko a 1-0 lead at halftime.
After the break, both teams fought hard, but it was Kotoko who capitalized on their chances, with Kwame Opoku sealing the win in the 89th minute via the spot.
The victory propels Kotoko to the top of the league with 37 points, while Legon Cities remain in 17th place with 17 points.
The Porcupines’ next challenge is against Samartex FC, while Legon Cities face Berekum Chelsea.
