Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak are on the verge of appointing Julius Ben Emunah as their new General Manager, according to reports by Wontumi FM.
The former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Director of Competitions is expected to replace Delali Anku-Adiamah, whose contract with the Phobians has expired.
Anku-Adiamah was appointed General Manager in February 2024, but following the end of his contract, Hearts of Oak have opted to part ways with the football administrator as part of ongoing structural changes at the club.
Hearts have now reportedly turned to Ben Emunah, a seasoned football administrator with extensive experience in football governance, safety, licensing, and competitions management, to steer the club’s administrative affairs.
Emunah served the GFA in various capacities over the years, earning a reputation for professionalism and efficiency. He was Regional Administrative Manager for the Western Region Football Association between 2016 and 2020, where he played a key role in strengthening administrative systems and regional competitions.
At the national level, he served as National Safety and Security Officer and Club Licensing Manager from 2020 to 2024, overseeing matchday safety operations and ensuring compliance with CAF and FIFA club licensing regulations.
In January 2023, Emunah was appointed Head of Competitions, a role he initially held in an acting capacity before being confirmed. During his tenure, he supervised the organisation and management of domestic competitions, including the Ghana Premier League and other GFA-sanctioned tournaments.
