The National Chapters Committee (NCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak has called for urgent improvements in referee training following what it describes as consistent poor officiating in the Ghana Premier League.
In a statement released, the supporters’ body said repeated controversial decisions show the need for better preparation and assessment of match officials.
The committee appealed to the Ghana Football Association and the Referees Appointment Committee to strengthen training structures to prevent avoidable mistakes.
“Despite earlier appeals, we have seen no meaningful improvement,” the NCC said.
“These repeated decisions are harming our club and undermining the integrity of the competition.”
The NCC referenced two recent league fixtures it believes highlight the problem.
During Matchday 23 at the University of Ghana Stadium against Berekum Chelsea, referee Jacob Aduntera allegedly failed to award what Hearts considered a clear penalty.
The group also cited concerns from Matchday 24 at Dun’s Park against Bibiani Gold Stars.
According to the committee, improved technical development and stricter performance review systems for referees would help protect the credibility of the league.
While calling for reforms, the NCC urged supporters to remain calm and avoid any form of hooliganism.
