Ghana Football Association communications director, Henry Asante Twum has thrown lights on “other responsibilities” of Black Stars coach Chris Hughton.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion trainer was appointed by the football governing body to head the technical team of the senior national team of Ghana.
Speaking on WarmUp Plus on TV3, Henry said Hughton has been charged with roles of advicing other national teams.
“Chris is the coach of the Black Stars but he has other responsibilities,” Henry said.
“Advice, guidance, and what have you, to the other national teams, so watching the games gives him the opportunity to also recommend players who fall within the competition.”
“U-23, U-20, and U-17 who are still playing in the Black Stars and those he thinks also qualify to play in the Black Stars will be given a fair opportunity.”
Hughton returns to action in the dugout when the Black Stars continue their 2023 AFCON qualifiers in June, having secured four points in back-to-back games with Angola.
