All seems to be not well in the camp of Accra Hearts of Oak after the end of the 2021/22 football season.

According to reports in the local media on Friday evening, Alhaji Akanbi, who is a board member allegedly wanted Hearts of Oak playing body to grace his son’s wedding by playing a football game with New Town XI last month.

Akanbi decided without informing the management or the board.

However, the head coach of the side, Samuel Boadu stood against the decision of Akanbi. The match was eventually called off.

Vincent Odotei, and Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, who are also board members are currently in the news for various reasons.

Despite defending the FA Cup title, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe wants head coach Samuel Boadu fired because he feels he is not competent enough as the Phobians prepare for Africa.

However, his statement has been described as bad by football pundits and Phobia supporters.

“I have a problem with the technical direction of the club, most of the players appear to be indisciplined in the team and are either aged or lazy,” he told Accra-based Angel FM.

“I strongly have my doubt that the technical team can do well in Africa, Hearts of Oak is a big club and must always be in the hand of a big coach like Attuquayefio. I believe the current technical team can’t carry us far,” he added.

To make matters worse, the Welfare manager of the club, W.O Tandoh left the Accra-based club after two years.

The former Aduana Stars assistant trainer was a member of coach Samuel Boadu’s backroom staff who helped the team win the domestic treble in the 2020/21 season.

Tandoh in a statement sent to the Majority shareholder of the club, Togbe Afede revealed he left the club because of Vincent Sowah Odotei and Alhaj Akanbi’s autocratic leadership style.

“The reason for my resignation is based on the autocratic, undermining, intimidating, and continues lies of Mr. Vincent Sowah Odotei and Alhaji Imoro Braimah,” Tandoh said.

Accra Hearts of Oak finished the season in sixth place and retained the MTN FA Cup Trophy they won in the 2020/21 season.

The club will be representing the country in the 2022/23 CAF Confederations Cup.
