Match0fixing scandal: Inter Allies intend to file appeal against demotion –

Inter Allies intends to file an appeal against the Ghana Football Association’s decision to demote them to Division Two after they were found guilty of match-fixing.

After a 10-month investigation, the FA’s Disciplinary Committee ruled that last season’s match between AshantiGold and Inter Allies was fixed by two teams and demoted both to the third-tier league.

The match produced a 7-0 scoreline in favour of the Miners, with defender Hashmin Musah purposefully scoring two own goals.

Unsatisfied with the verdict, Inter Allies FC officials have decided to file an appeal, according to sources.

The club believes it is being treated unfairly and wishes to have the demotion reversed.

Inter Allies currently compete in the Division One League after being relegated from the Premier League, but will move to Division Two starting next season.
