2024 President’s Cup: Asante Kotoko losing to ASEC Mimosa disappointing – David Ocloo

Asante Kotoko assistant coach, David Ocloo, has described losing the 2024 President’s Cup to ASEC Mimosa as disappointing.

The Ivorian team secured a 2-1 win over the Porcupine Warriors with two first-half goals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

That means the Ghanaian giants have now lost back to back President Cup titles following last year’s defeat to rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“It is very disappointing, and hard to take, we planned to make Ghana proud today. They should forgive us,” said Ocloo.

“We respected them too much in the first half. Our second half was very good.”

Despite coming straight from Morocco after a CAF Champions League defeat against Wydad Casablanca, ASEC Mimosa accepted GHALCA’s invitation to participate in Ghana’s 67th Independence Day Celebration.

The ASEC Mimosa team displayed eagerness, determination, and a relentless spirit throughout the match, pressing and fighting for every ball.

Their proactive approach unsettled Asante Kotoko, showcasing a strong performance to represent ASEC Mimosa positively.

The special football match between ASEC Mimosa and Asante Kotoko was part of Ghana’s 67th Independence Day celebrations.
