Semenyo was inches away from ending his goal drought but Evanilson strayed offside in Chelsea’s clash with Bournemouth, prompting the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to intervene at the Vitality Stadium.

The Ghanaian forward thought he had scored in the fifth minute, but Evanilson was ruled offside in the build-up.

Bournemouth dominated the first half, with Semenyo forcing a sharp save from Robert Sanchez and Evanilson missing a golden chance on the rebound.

Chelsea’s Liam Delap was forced off with a shoulder injury, replaced by Marc Guiu.

In the second half, Chelsea improved, with Alejandro Garnacho heading against the post. Semenyo nearly scored late, but Sanchez made a great save. The draw leaves Bournemouth winless in six games, while Chelsea drops points in the title race
