Ghanaian legend Michael Essien has tipped Real Madrid to clinch the Uefa Champions League trophy in Los Blancos’ final showdown against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley tonight.
Essien, who is a brand ambassador for betting company Sporty, backed Real Madrid to win a 15th Uefa Champions League crown, predicting a 2-1 victory.
Essien, fondly known for memories at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea, played on loan for Real Madrid in the 2012/13 season.
In his time with Real Madrid, Essien made 21 appearances across all competitions and scored two goals in that same period.
Notably, in the Champions League, Essien finished with a winners medal in 2012 after Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties at the Allianz Arena.
The 2012 winners medal was preceded by a runner-up finish in 2008 to Manchester United in the first-ever all-English Uefa Champions League final.
