The Ghanaian right back has been absent from competitive football since December when he crocked his knee in a Premiership game against Chelsea but believes he is mighty close to playing again after the reserves game against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday.
Paintil told KickOffGhana.com that he will play in the ‘big one’ on Tuesday against Wolves’ reserves for 90 minutes which he hopes will confirm his readiness for the rigours of the final stages of the season.
Paintsil had looked solid all season for Fulham as they competed on two fronts in the premiership and the Europa league until the injury but he is confident he can regain his best form in time for Ghana’s World Cup campaign.
“I just want to be back in time and contribute to Fulham’s season again but it is also really important for me that I can play again and get my fitness in shape for the World Cup.”
