Black Stars forward Osman Bukari has expressed his excitement after being unveiled as new Austin Fc player on Tuesday afternoon in the United States.
Bukari completed his much anticipated switch from Red Star Belgrade to the US-based side for a club record fee of €7m, eclipsing the previous record of €6.40m paid for Sebastián Driussi’s service’s from Zenit St. Petersburg in the 2021/22 season.
The Ghanaian forward achieved the league and cup double with Serbian outfit Red Star, before moving to Austin, where he is itching to begin his new journey.
“I’m really excited to be here and I can’t wait to be on the pitch. And right now, I can see amazing fans and I will be very happy to play in front of you, so I just hope very soon I’ll be on the pitch”, he said
Austin Fc have struggled domestically with poor string of results, coupled with dismal performances, leaving the team in 8th position with 27 points in the Western Conference of the MLS.
Bukari’s immediate task will be to help turn the fortunes of the team around, as they have managed to pick up one victory in their last five league outings.
