Struggling Ghana Premier League side Hohoe United have parted ways with head coach Tijani Abdul Rahim Bashiru after just five months in charge.
The decision follows Friday’s uninspiring goalless draw against regional rivals Heart of Lions, a result that left the club stuck in the relegation zone after 17 matches at the halfway point of the season.
Bashiru was appointed to guide the league newcomers to safety in their debut top-flight campaign, but performances and results failed to meet expectations, prompting management to act.
The former Young Apostles boss previously served as an assistant coach at Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics, and has also held head coach roles at Legon Cities and Young Apostles.
Hohoe United are expected to announce an interim replacement as they battle to avoid relegation in the second half of the season.
