Senegal have secured a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final after a thrilling 1-0 win over Egypt.
Sadio Mane scored the decisive goal in the 78th minute, sending the Teranga Lions to the final.
The match was a tense affair, with Senegal dominating possession but struggling to break down Egypt’s resolute defense.
Mane’s winner was a result of Lamine Camara’s blocked shot, which fell to him, and he capitalized with a precise right-footed strike past Mohamed El Shenawy.
Egypt pushed for a late equalizer but Senegal’s defense held strong, with Edouard Mendy making a crucial save in stoppage time.
This is Senegal’s fourth AFCON final appearance, and they will face the winner of the Nigeria vs Morocco semi-final on Sunday.
Egypt, on the other hand, will play in the third-place playoff.
