As Colts Football continues to witness a resurgence throughout the country, the Ho Municipal (Volta Region) Colts League kicked off at the Ho Barracks Park on 13th April, 2024.

Using the Game Centre approach introduced by the current GFA Administration led by President Kurt E. S. Okraku, who doubles as the Chairman of National Juvenile (Colts) Committee, the venue witnessed four mouthwatering encounters.

Destiny pip Volta Young Eagles Scores: 1-0

Destiny edged Volta Young Eagles 1-0 in a match that saw both teams displaying great determination in a contest of fine margins. Destiny took the lead at a time where they were dominant and never looked back thus starting their campaign with a win.

Asogli SC beat Mighty Powers Academy on penalties Scores: 6-5(1-1) on penalties

In another closely fought affair, Asogli SC needed penalties to overcome a resolute Mighty Powers Academy team who had valiantly held Asogli SC to a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time. The game went to penalties as the Ho Municipal Football Association began the implementation of the recently released guidelines for Colts Football by the National Juvenile (Colts) Committee. Under the guidelines, matches that end in draws will be settled through penalties.

Dominant VISA overpower Ho Colts Scores: 2-0

In an explosive start to their season, Volta International Sports Academy (VISA) made a clear statement of intent as they outclassed Ho Colts in their opening match ultimately winning by two goals to nothing.

Penalties separate Dynamo Soccer Academy and Cosmos FC

Scores: 3-1(0-0) on penalties

The match between Dynamo Soccer Academy and Cosmos FC was the only match that failed to produce a goal on the league’s opening day. Excellent defending by both teams ensured that chances created by both clubs were effectively snuffed out. In the ensuing penalty shootout, Dynamo Soccer Academy kept their composure to convert three kicks as against one by Cosmos FC.

With the brilliant display of football witnessed on matchday 1, the prospects for an exciting Ho Municipal Colts League season are very high and football fans in the municipality are looking forward to the next round of matches.
