Umea FC have secured the signature of Ghanaian striker Philip Appiah Jnr on a three-year contract following a standout trial.
The 21-year-old convinced the technical team after finding the net three times in three appearances.
His sharp movement and composure in front of goal reportedly left a strong impression on the club.
Veteran player Adam Chennoufi believes the forward adds quality to the squad.
“Philip is a strong and technical striker who can play with both feet and is quick in behind. He delivered well during his trial, and we are excited to see him in the Umea FC shirt,” he said.
Before the switch to Sweden, Appiah Jnr played for Portuguese side Sporting Clube de Espinho.
The young attacker says he is ready for the challenge ahead.
“I’m thrilled to sign a three-year deal with Umea FC. The squad is young and ambitious, and I already feel like part of the family,” he said.
He has been handed the number 10 jersey ahead of the new campaign.
Club officials are hopeful his arrival will strengthen their attacking department.
The move marks an important step in the Ghanaian forward’s growing European journey.
