Ghana youngster Ernest Nuamah features for Lyon in defeat to Rennes at home

Ghana international, Ernest Nuamah has returned to Olympic Lyon after the Group Stage exit of the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The forward featured for his team on Friday night during their clash against Stade Rennes in the French Ligue 1.

In the Round 19 game of the season, Ernest Nuamah was not part of the Olympic Lyon starting eleven.

At halftime when his team was trailing by three goals to nothing, his manager introduced him into the game to replace Rayan Cherki.

Following his introduction, Ernest Nuamah played an important role and helped his team to score two goals through strikes from Henrique and Alexander Lacazette.

Unfortunately, Lyon could not get the crucial third goal and had to suffer a narrow 3-2 defeat at full-time.

Stade Rennes grabbed all three points thanks to a brace from Martin Terrier and a strike from Desire Doue.
