Ali Mohammed broke the deadlock 12 minutes into the second half, giving the hosts the lead.
However, Stephen Amankonah stepped up to score the equalizer for Berekum Chelsea, securing a valuable away point on Saturday afternoon.
The draw moves Berekum Chelsea into the top four with 10 points after six games.
They will host Legon Cities at the Golden City Park in Berekum in their week seven fixture.
Accra Lions now sit 12th on the league table with five points and will face newly promoted Young Apostles in their next match at the University of Ghana Stadium.
