Three Ghanaian football officials have been selected for duties at the ongoing WAFU Zone B Women’s CAF Champions League qualifying tournament in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Rejoice Addokwei has been appointed as a centre referee for the competition, while Patricia Kyeraa will work as an assistant referee. Their selection represents a show of confidence in Ghanaian match officials at regional level as clubs compete for a place in the next stage of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Aglago Grace Emmanuella is the third Ghanaian official involved in the tournament. Her responsibilities will extend beyond match officiating, with her appointed as a technical instructor and referees assessor.
In that role, Emmanuella will contribute to the technical development of referees taking part in the competition and help assess their performances during the tournament. Her appointment reflects the range of expertise Ghana is providing to the officiating team in Ouagadougou.
Addokwei and Kyeraa will be involved directly in the delivery of matches, with the former taking charge as a centre referee and the latter operating as an assistant referee. Emmanuella, meanwhile, will support the technical and assessment work surrounding the officials.
The appointments come as participating clubs continue their pursuit of qualification to the next phase of the CAF Women’s Champions League. The Ghanaian officials are expected to uphold the required standards of professionalism throughout the tournament and help ensure that the matches are conducted smoothly.
Their presence adds experience and specialist knowledge to the tournament’s officiating structure, while also highlighting the contribution of Ghanaian officials to regional football competitions.
