Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim says he is ready to compete for Kumasi Asante Kotoko as a more mature player after returning to the club for a second spell.
The 23-year-old made the claim during his first official interview since completing his return to the Porcupine Warriors. Kumasi Asante Kotoko confirmed his signing on Monday, August 24, although the club did not disclose the terms of his contract.
Ibrahim previously spent two years with Kotoko before leaving Ghana to continue his career in the Ethiopian League. During that period, he played for Ethiopian Coffe SC and made 55 appearances.
His return gives him another opportunity to represent the club after first featuring for Kotoko as a 19-year-old. Ibrahim believes the chance to play for the Porcupine Warriors again is a special one, particularly because he now comes back with greater experience than he had during his first spell.
The goalkeeper said he is not returning as the same player who left the club. At 23, he feels he has developed both as a footballer and as a professional, having spent time playing away from Ghana and building up his experience in competitive football.
That development will be important as he competes for a place in the Kotoko team. His first spell began when he was still a teenager, while his latest return comes after two further years of football and 55 appearances in Ethiopia.
