According to CIES observatory (a football research agency) Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has been valued as the 2nd most expensive African player, falling behind Senegal and Chelsea ace Nicolas Jackson (€99.3m) in the pecking order.
Mohammed Kudus ranks above Nigeria and Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface in third (€86.5m), while Napoli’s Victor Osimhen places 4th (€85.6m).
Morocco and Real Madrid prodigy Brahim Diaz comes 5th (€76.4m), pulling clear of Spurs and Sengealse midfielder (6th) Pape Matar Sarr (€70.1m).
Ivory Coast’s Ousmane Diomande (€60.1m), Burkina’s Edmond Tapsoba (€59.2m), Manchester United and Cameroonian shot stopper Andre Onana (€50.9m) and Brighton and Ivorian winger Simon Adingra, ranking 7th – 10th respectively.
Kudus’ first stellar campaign at West Ham has seen him attract interest from elite European clubs, with Liverpool – who see him as a viable replacement for the coaxed Mohammed Salah- and Manchester United in pursuit of the Ghanaian.
Being able to play across the frontline and midfield adds extra sheen to Kudus’ case, with versatility an integral asset of the former Right to Dream and Ajax star.
After steering the Black Stars to two victories in two World Cup qualifying games, the West Ham star is off International duty and on a deserved break.
