Asamoah Gyan may have scored the goal that knocked out the host Angola from the tournament but the star man of that quarterfinal, Kwadwo Asamoah, whose performance from central midfield got even the greatest name in Ghana football Abedi Pele gushing with praise.
“He has been good in every game and gets better and better”, Abedi told KickOffGhana.com. “He has great ball control, protects the ball well when he is in possession and has a terrific shot.”
Asamoah warmed his way into Ghanaian hearts in June last year when he turned in two outstanding performances from midfield in two away victories over Mali and Sudan that earned went a long way in earning Ghana a place at the 2010 World Cup.
And ahead of the nations cup Milovan Rajevac called the Udinese man his “most important creative midfield player”.
The player himself insisted he can deal with the weight of expectation on him but now the pressure will even get higher especially after his fine display against Angola.
