Ghana international Caleb Yirenkyi is close to joining newly promoted English Premier League club Coventry City from FC Nordsjælland in a transfer that could become the most expensive deal ever involving a Danish SuperLiga club.
The proposed agreement is understood to include an initial fee of €27m, with a further €3m available in performance-related bonuses. If all elements of the deal are met, the total value would reach €30m.
Yirenkyi, 20, is expected to complete a medical in the coming days before finalising his move to England. The transfer would represent a significant step in the midfielder’s rapid development and would rank among the biggest outgoing deals in Danish football history.
The Ghanaian heads into the proposed move after producing another influential performance for FC Nordsjælland. He was named Man of the Match after helping the club beat Randers 1-0 in their second Danish SuperLiga match of the 2026/27 season.
Yirenkyi’s display came after an impressive 2025/26 campaign, during which he scored two goals and provided six assists in 30 league appearances. His performances also earned him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He played in all four of the Black Stars’ matches at the tournament and scored in the game against Panama. That involvement at international level has added to the growing attention surrounding the young midfielder as he prepares for a possible move to the Premier League.
