Ghana goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi is close to joining South African top-flight club Stellenbosch FC, with negotiations between the player and the club understood to have reached an advanced stage.
An agreement is expected to be completed soon, according to reports, which would allow Agbasi to begin a new chapter in his career after becoming a free agent.
The goalkeeper’s contract recently expired, making him one of the most sought-after players in Ghana’s domestic transfer market. His availability has attracted interest from several clubs in Ghana and abroad, but Stellenbosch FC now appears to be closest to securing his signature.
Agbasi’s possible move to South Africa follows an important period in which his reputation has grown both domestically and internationally. He was included in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as a standby goalkeeper, an involvement that further raised his profile on the international stage.
