The Ghanaian has travelled to Spain today and will have a medical on Monday before he would be presented officially as a Getafe player. No financial details have been disclosed by Getafe with regards to the move that Boateng considers vital to his attempt to break back into the Ghana national team set up. He spent just six months in Germany after signing from Beitar Jerusalem in January this year. He admits he struggled with the physical demands of Bundesliga but is confident he will do fine in Spain. “In Spain players can express themselves more on the ball a lot more and anyone who knows me will know that will suit me fine. It is a also League with a big profile which means if I play on a regular basis there it will be easy to catch the eye of the national team bosses in Ghana,” Boateng told KickOffGhana.com. Spain is now the fifth country that the 26-year old Boateng will play in since he left Ghana after previously playing in Greece, Sweden, Israel and Germany.
