Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has challenged his players to step up as they prepare to face Asante Kotoko in a key Ghana Premier League fixture.
The Kpando-based side will rely on maximum commitment at home as they look to change their fortunes in Week 21.
Saturday’s encounter is expected to draw strong interest given the history between both clubs.
The match will be staged at the Kpando Sports Stadium with kick-off set for 3:30 pm on January 31
“Playing at home, we want to double our efforts. We have prepared very well for this match, and now it’s about seeing what we can achieve on the pitch,” Hayford said in a pre-match interview with Heart of Lions TV.
Hayford admitted his team faces a stern examination against a resurgent Kotoko side.
“It is going to be a difficult game. We cannot underestimate any opponent, especially a team like Kotoko who are back to winning ways,” he added.
The Lions have endured a challenging campaign, but the coach insists preparation remains their strongest weapon.
“Although we are facing challenges, we are focused on preparing well to meet them and hopefully secure a good result,” he added.
