Barcelona coach Xavi has revealed when teen sensation Ansu Fati will be back from his long injury layoff.
Fati’s progress with Barca’s first team has been hampered by injuries and has barely had a sniff of games this season but according to Xavi, the player was back training and should be in the squad on May 1 against Real Mallorca.
The Spaniard picked up a long-term hamstring injury against Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey but was expected to return this week to face Cadiz.
Ansu Fati was expected to be available for Sunday’s game against Rayo, but he will have to wait at least one more week to be able to play again. Everything is fine with the player, but Barça don’t want to rush him.

“If everything goes well he’ll be there for the next game, against Mallorca. He’s total with the group. It’s a very positive note for us and he can help us a lot,” said Xavi.
There are fears about the player’s return with the club taking all the precautions not to rush him back into action. The teenager is pushing for a return this weekend as he considers himself fully recovered but his club is worried about another relapse having halted his return twice already.
