Ghanaian international James Akaminko has set sights on winning the CAF Confederations Cup and the Tanzanian Premier League title with Azam FC.
Akaminko joined Azam FC in Tanzania last July from Great Olympics where he only stayed 5 months before impressing the east African giants.
In an interview, the midfielder reiterated desire to win both CAF Confederations Cup and the league title with Azam FC in order to boost his career and the club’s ambitions.
“If we are fortunate, we want to win the CAF Confederation Cup as well as the league and this will boost my career and achieve the club’s ambitions.”
Meanwhile, the former Ashantigold star has clamored for an improvement of the Ghana Premier League and grassroots football at large.
Comparing football in Ghana and Tanzania, Akaminko indicated the West African country has a long way to in terms of organizational and administrative issues which will ultimately help fulfil the nations footballing potential
According to him, the NBC Premier League in Tanzania is “stronger and more professional” and that the administrative issues in the Ghana premier league is holding the football back from its potential.
“Playing out of Ghana has made me know that we have a long way to go as a footballing nation,” he said.
