Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the newly elected Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says he will use humility, unity, discipline and dedication to rebuild the party and help restore it to power at the 2028 general elections.
Mr Appiah, widely known as Asanteman COKA, made the commitment after winning the regional executive elections. He said the support he received from delegates carried a responsibility that he would not treat lightly.
“I will lead with humility, unity, discipline and dedication to restore the NPP to power in 2028,” he said.
His immediate appeal was for members of the NPP in the Ashanti Region to set aside divisions and personal grievances. Mr Appiah said the party’s efforts should now be focused on strengthening its structures, rebuilding internal cohesion and improving its competitiveness before the 2028 elections.
The chairman-elect also sought to reassure the other candidates who took part in the regional contest that the election had not brought an end to their involvement in the party’s work.
He specifically addressed those who were unsuccessful, saying their experience, ideas and commitment would continue to have a role in his administration.
“To all candidates who contested, especially those who were unsuccessful, there is a place for you in my administration. Your experience, ideas and commitment are valuable to the party,” he stated.
Mr Appiah’s comments placed unity at the centre of his plans for the NPP’s Ashanti Regional organisation. Rather than limiting his administration to those who supported his successful campaign, he invited all contestants to contribute to the party’s future.
He also thanked the delegates who backed him in the regional executive elections and said he understood the need to repay that confidence through service.
The newly elected chairman pledged to justify the decision made by delegates by working diligently for the NPP and its members across the Ashanti Region.
His stated priorities are to lead the party with humility and discipline, bring members together, and dedicate his administration to restoring the NPP to power in 2028. The appeal for unsuccessful candidates to remain involved forms part of that broader effort to rebuild the party’s structures and make it more competitive ahead of the general elections.
Mr Appiah’s election therefore begins with a call for cooperation across the party, as he seeks to turn the confidence placed in him by delegates into dedicated service and a united approach to the NPP’s preparations for 2028.
