Medeama SC have been handed a financial sanction by the Ghana Football Association.

The GFA’s Disciplinary Committee imposed a GHS 10,000 fine on the Tarkwa-based club following an infraction recorded in their opening-day fixture against Young Apostles.

According to the ruling, Medeama failed to comply with league regulations regarding proper player identification on match jerseys.

The committee noted that some players took part in the game without their names clearly displayed on the back of their shirts.

As part of the decision, the club has also been issued a firm warning to ensure full compliance with competition regulations going forward.

Medeama have been directed to settle the fine within 14 days of receiving official communication from the FA.

The sanction comes at a time when the Yellow and Mauve are enjoying a productive league campaign.

After 17 matches, Ibrahim Tanko’s side sit at the summit of the table with 34 points, setting the pace in the title race.
