Asante Kotoko SC have been hit with a financial penalty after the Ghana Football Association took disciplinary action over incidents recorded during their Premier League clash with Medeama SC.
The ruling stems from the November 2025 fixture at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, a game in which Kotoko needed two late goals to force a draw.
Following investigations, the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee concluded that the club failed to adequately protect match officials.
The committee also established that certain supporters engaged in threatening behaviour towards officials after the match.
In addition, Kotoko were cited for allowing unauthorised individuals to gain access to restricted zones, including the tunnel area.
As a result, the club has been fined GHS 10,000 and formally warned over future conduct.
The GFA stressed that ensuring the safety of officials and maintaining order at match venues remains the responsibility of host clubs.
Kotoko have been directed to settle the fine within 14 days of receiving official notification.
