The 2026 nomination makes Konlan the only Ghanaian goalkeeper on the shortlist, which recognises leading performers from across the continent over the past year.

The remaining nominees are Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi, Nigeria’s Christiana Uzoma, Senegal’s Adji Ndiaye, South Africa’s Kaylin Swart and Zambia’s Hazel Nali.
Konlan’s inclusion acknowledges her contribution to Ghanaian women’s football and her performances for both club and country.
The Black Queens have also been nominated for Women’s National Team of the Year, meaning Ghana has received recognition in three women’s categories at the 2026 CAF Awards.
The ceremony will take place on Monday, December 7, 2026, and will honour outstanding performances in African football during the eligibility period.
