Ghana’s Football Association (GFA) has only one bus for its 20 national teams, and the vehicle purchased in 2008 is now out of service, president Kurt Okraku has told Parliament.
Speaking to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth and Sports on Tuesday, November 4, Okraku said the bus is used by all of Ghana’s national sides, including the Black Stars and Black Queens.

“GFA has just one broken bus for 20 national teams,” he said.
The remaining 18 national teams also depend on the same vehicle for their transport needs. With it no longer available, the GFA has been forced to hire buses for its teams.
The association rented a bus during the most recent international window to ensure its teams could travel.
Okraku described the lack of transport and other basic logistical resources as one of the fundamental problems affecting Ghanaian football.
He said continued success for the national teams would require investment in essential infrastructure and support systems.
According to the GFA president, the shortage of those resources has made it difficult for Ghana to sustain consistent success across successive generations of national teams.
