Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has singled out his midfield unit for praise following the club’s emphatic victory over Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors delivered a ruthless 6-0 performance at the Baba Yara Stadium, setting the record for the biggest win of the 2025/26 season and keeping a clean sheet.
Lord Adabo, Seth Kwadwo and Hubert Gyau controlled proceedings in midfield, prompting Zito to highlight their influence on the game.
Morifing Donzo struck twice, while Samba O’Neil, Kwame Opoku, Johnson Oppong and Gyau also got on the scoresheet to cap a dominant display.
“Go back to watch all the matches we won. This is the first after all coming down, this is the match I got them play together again and look at the goals,” Zito said.
He added, “The telepathy between these three boys, is good and getting them together makes things work. So we will keep on trying, we’re not there yet we keep building till we get things better.”
The victory sends Kotoko top of the league table on 30 points ahead of their Week 17 trip to face Swedru All Blacks.
However, they could be leapfrogged by Medeama who have an outstanding fixture against Bibiani GoldStars.
